Parrots are great for picking up vulgarities, and they often learn to use them in proper context too. One time my parrot dropped a nut when she was on top of her cage. “Motherfucker!”, she screeched. It took me 15 minutes to stop laughing. I’ve never heard her say that before or after. Or another time, she was screaming (parrots scream for fun, they’re not what you’d call an apartment pet) and a family member yelled at her “Shut up!”. I hear a birdy voice yell right back, “Fuck you!”

Just mimic my ass. They absolutely can grasp context for words, even if they can’t get the meaning perfect.
